Creative PAW: Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare

How We Work

In attempts to best serve the animal welfare community our volunteers can only be made available to the most needy 501c3 org's for a single creative project that is not on-going. Examples include: designing or updating a website, logo creation, writing a letter or a press release, creating a print ad or flyer, etc. Organizations are eligible to submit a request through creativePAW once per year.

If you're interested in volunteering, please sign up for the mailing list here. Volunteer requests are distributed via our newsletter. If/when a volunteer is interested in helping out an org with a project, they will contact the organization.

If you're an animal welfare group looking for volunteer creative help, please fill out the form here with details on your org and your project. If the request meets our guidelines and criteria, we will add your request to our e-mail Newsletter and a creativePAW volunteer will contact you.

Why Volunteer?

If you're looking for volunteer opportunities where you can use your skills and talents to keep fuzzy little creatures happy and healthy, this is the place to find them. Animal welfare organizations need your help to create compelling marketing, PR, education and fundraising materials.

Helping cute, cuddly animals is the first reason to join creativePAW; you'll be using your creative skills to help save healthy dogs and cats from being euthanized just because they have no homes, educate people on how to treat animals, fight animal cruelty, help homeless pets find forever homes and more - what could be better?

Then there are the professional benefits: When you work on projects for animal welfare groups, often you'll be networking with other creative professionals — and networking is a great way to find paying work. Success stories are posted in our Hall of Fame and often volunteers are able to book paying gigs from this exposure. Additionally, we are often receive requests for creative professionals referrals and are always MORE than happy to facilitate the referral process and help you to further your career!

Lastly, it never hurts to have good karma!

The Fine Print for Volunteers

Please be professional. (We know you will!) Even though you're working for free, you should adhere to the requesting organization's guidelines, meet your deadlines and do your best work.

We do our best to screen the organizations but bottom line - we're not responsible for the project or the organization. Make sure you hash out all the details like deadlines, project size, how much time you can commit to the project, etc. before agreeing to do something.

Please spread the word about creativePAW! Link to us from your website or blog, encourage your professional associates to join, let your local animal welfare organizations know about us and be sure that every volunteer assignment you work on includes creativePAW's web address if possible. Thank you!

The Fine Print for Animal Welfare Organizations

Our volunteer members are both new and seasoned professionals. You are responsible for checking the professionals' credentials. Though we expect the volunteers in our network to act professionally, we can't be held responsible for any mishaps or disagreements.

Our volunteer members can help you if you're an organization or individual that can't afford staff or freelance creative professionals.

Remember that these volunteers are professionals who are taking time from their paying work to help animal welfare organizations; if possible, please include the professional's credit with the finished project so they can include it in their portfolio.

Also, please include our web address (www.creativepaw.org) in any completed project if at all possible. This helps us spread the word about creativePAW, attract new volunteers and help even more organizations!
