Susannah and Mark of RIPE Creative responded to a volunteer request from Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society and created the beautiful logo you see here.
“Working with RIPE Creative was a very pleasurable and easy experience,” says Christie Arlotta of Karma Cat + Zen Dog. “Their design knowledge and love of animals helped us all to brainstorm and understand the process in a very efficient manner. We were provided with a few options during the rough design stage to choose from and discuss. Everyone at Karma Cat + Zen Dog is extremely happy with the final product and we can’t wait to announce ourselves to the public with this logo!”
Thanks, Susannah and Mark!
I received this nice note from Ben Davidow of Students for Animal Rights (StAR). Thanks to Diane Hoffman, Lorrie Reece, and Carolyn Maclaren — and to all our creativePAW volunteers!
If you’re a creative professional like a writer, web designer, photographer, editor, web designer, etc., please do sign up for the creativePAW mailing list to receive volunteer requests from animal welfare organiaztions like StAR.
A few months ago I was stuck. As the Co-organizer of Students for Animal Rights (StAR), a coalition of collegiate animal advocacy groups, I had set out to create a website for our 2010 International College Veg Pledge. The problem was, I had the web design know-how of a clam and lacked the funds to hire a professional. To make matters worse, the semester’s end was nearing and we needed to turn around the site in an extremely tight timeframe. The only hope was to recruit some talented volunteers to get the job done. And that’s where creativePAW came in. I was incredibly lucky to find web designer Diane Hoffman and programmer Lorrie Reece who brought enthusiasm, dedication, and talent to the project and saved the day. They teamed up to create an awesomely inspiring and impactful website for the Pledge and they did so at lightning speed. Additionally, creativePAW volunteer Carolyn Maclaren designed the Pledge logo which was a huge hit. I am immensely grateful for the creativePAW volunteers who made this project a huge success. But that’s not all. I was so inspired by Diane, Lorrie, and Carolyn, that I have decided to learn html, CSS, and web design myself. Maybe someday, I’ll be a creativePAW volunteer too!
creativePAW volunteer Elizabeth Kricfalusi created a fabulous website for Animal Resource Foundation Iowa. Here’s what Sandy at ARF has to say about the experience:
Animal Resource Foundation needed assistance creating a website to communicate our message and mission. A friend recommended CreativePaw so I posted a request asking for website assistance. We had a great response with several professionals offering their assistance.
One of the first to respond was Elizabeth Kricfalusi. I looked at her portfolio and liked what she had to offer. After asking questions about what we wanted and looking at examples of sites we liked and disliked, Elizabeth put together a mock up for our review. I liked the site and we decided to proceed. Elizabeth made several helpful suggestions and has even set up the site so that we can maintain it ourselves. She also suggested we create the site in phases so we can get the site up quickly in phase 1 and add enhancements later.
While working with Elizabeth I found her to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I was very impressed with Elizabeth as she was very responsive to our needs even though she was donating her time. In my experiences in non-profit this is not always the case. Many times people volunteer but for whatever reason they are unable or unwilling to complete the project leaving the organization in position where they need to start over with another professional.
This has been a very positive experience and I highly recommend CreativePaw and Elizabeth Kricfalusi.
Thanks, Elizabeth!
