I received the following message from an animal welfare org:

St. Francis Animal Sanctuary (SFAS) is in dire need of a skilled web designer to assist with launching our new site. Our local volunteer web designer has backed out of the project and we are now in limbo. We have a complete hosting package, including the host’s WYSIWYG editor, SSL, shopping cart, and approximately 70-80% of the content pulled together for the site, but little time or skill to get the site completed. We are past deadline to have this project completed, and we are now just hoping to complete this project before February 5th. Many of our largest donors are losing patience with us and we fear losing their support in 2010 due to our fumbles!
SFAS, the largest no-kill companion animal sanctuary in the Southeast US, is a no-kill companion animal sanctuary. Since our inception in 2001, SFAS has rescued more than 3000 dogs and cats in the Gulf Coast. In 2005, after Katrina, Best Friends Animal Society partnered with us to help rescue and rehome an additional 4000 animals that were displaced by the storm.
SFAS provides a safe haven, quality food, behavior rehabilitation, and comprehensive medical care including spay/neuter for all of our animals. SFAS also provides financial assistance for people that are struggling to afford life saving medical care for their pets. In the 2009, we have expanded to open a Thrift Store to help generate funds for the sanctuary and an Adoption Center to increase our adoption rates. We are trying valiantly to rebrand our image to create more public awareness of our mission, goals, and efforts.
Anyone interested in assisting with our new website can contact Susan Lancaster at 601-310-3145 or susan@stfrancisanimalsanctuary.org

Thanks to creativePAW member Kris Miller of atta girl design for creating a logo, business card, and more for Iowa Humane Alliance!
Says Eric Wullner of IHA: “Iowa Humane Alliance is a young and determined organization without a budget for advertising & marketing expenses. CreativePAW is an invaluable resource to non-profits that rely on the pro bono services of creative talent to develop professional media to communicate their organization’s message to donors and the public. Prior to launching a new website and major donor campaign, IHA needed to modernize our identity and Kris Miller from the CreativePAW network of Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare developed a unique identity that captured the essense of our organization which is ‘working together for Iowa’s pets.’ Many thanks to CreativePaw, Kris Miller and this network of creative professionals that generously donate time, energy and creative talent for the advancement of animal welfare.”
Thanks, Kris — and thanks also to all our wonderful volunteers!

I received this message from Out West Pet Rescue:
We are in need of volunteers who are experienced with grant writing and research for non profit 501c3 pet rescue. Thank you so much for your assistance.
We are strictly foster home only and have an average of 1,000 adoptions per year. We are constantly in need of food, materials, and finances for medical. We spay/neuter all dogs over the age of 4 months and most under the age of 4 months. There are occasions when we must adopt a pup out with a spay/neuter contract. We follow up on these vigilantly to assure the pets are sterilized. We are a group of 4 dedicated volunteers, and a handful of occasional volunteers. We need help to write and receive grants, and funds to continue. We have tried to reach out to more folks who are in low income situations this year with their pets getting altered, and it has hit us hard. We hate to turn away anyone, but must due to lack of funds. There are no “low-cost” or “free” spay/neutere clinics around here and the veterinary costs are steep for those with limited budgets. We want to help not only the pets, but their families to provide better care for them.
Anyone can reach us at 509-832-3060 or outwestpetrescue@yahoo.com.
