Project pawz is looking for a volunteer logo designer. Here’s the letter from them:
My name is Lynn Gatlin and my husband and I have been rescuing companion animals for years. It’s only been recently that we decided to actually give ourselves a name and try to build a site about what we do. For the techno-challenged, we’ve made great progress!! We’d love to have a logo designed to use on our site and also for advertising….. just something that’s recognizable in our small community. I have a few ideas, but I’m also open to suggestions from someone that knows more about this type of thing. If any of your wonderful volunteers have any extra time to help us out, we’d greatly appreciate it. I can be reached via e-mail at fosterfolks@projectpawz.com.
Our site (and don’t laugh…. it’s a beginner “build your own” site) is www.projectpawz.com.
Thanks, volunteers!
Look forward to hearing from you!!
creativePAW would like to thank Gabe Morton-Cook, a creativePAW volunteer who created the website for Second Hand Hounds. He did a fabulous job!
I just received this e-mail:
My name is Karen and I’ve been working professionally in the animal welfare field for about 13 years. I currently work for the Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs and previously worked at Best Friends Animal Society. My special area of interest is in communication, culture and conflict in the animal welfare field. I’ve recently completed a degree in Organizational Communication and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Mediation. My capstone project was the creation of a conflict resolution handbook for animal welfare workers. I am eager to share this group as a free resource for those working (either in paid or volunteer positions) in this field. I’ll be presenting a workshop on this topic at the No More Homeless Pets Conference this October.
I am seeking volunteer help with designing the handbook. It will not be terribly long (about 7,500 words–more like a booklet). The content is essentially complete (getting a little more input from reviewers, currently, but nearly done), but I’ve done essentially no formatting up to this point. I do have some ideas about the tone and basic design. The handbook will be accessed primarily online as a pdf; I’d like the design to look good whether viewed on a screen or printed on a home or office printer.
If you are interested in working on this project, please contact me at karen@acc-d.org or on my cell at 503-310-4265. I am based in Portland, Oregon, so in the Pacific time zone.
Thanks, volunteers!
