Creative PAW: Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare

**This volunteer position has been filled. Thank you!**

I got this message from Scott Smith of Save 2 Lives:

“Save 2 Lives” is the working title of an upcoming short film to raise awareness for Mike’s Dog House, an animal shelter that rescues good, adoptable dogs from difficult situations and animal shelters where their days are numbered.

All footage has been shot, and we’re in the process of editing right now. So far, all talent and equipment have been donated. We need a “Save 2 Lives” high-resolution logo to be used in the title sequence for the film.

We expect to release the film mid-August. Credit will be given.

If you’re interested in designing a logo for Save 2 Lives, please contact Scott Smith at scottjsmith@prodigy.net. Thanks so much!

I received this message from Rachel Mairose at Secondhand Hounds:

I am starting a rescue group and from there a program that allows at-risk youth to work with rescue dogs (as a benefit to both). I have worked in rescue for a long time and feel as though I have most things under control — except a website! I have no idea where to start, but if one of your volunteers would help me start one up, I would be forever grateful! I specifically need help with the start up- i.e. what server to use, coding, and the basic “look” of the website. A logo would also be great, too!

If you’re interested in helping Secondhand Hounds, please contact Rachel Mairose at RachelABrockway@gmail.com. Thanks!

It’s about quality of life for us all!

Organization Backgrounder:

In 2008, we formed NJA! in Sacramento, California to recognize the emerging importance of pets as family members, to ensure every animal is a valued member of our community and to promote the importance of the human animal bond.

NJA! was formerly known as PACKS Rescue. After soul searching and a board retreat, we collectively created a name that was reflective of an enterprise going after something MORE than animals, (i.e. the human-animal bond) and less about portraying animals as victims in need of rescue. By working to increase awareness of companion animals’ positive effects in our lives we hope to ensure better care for animals and a healthier community.

NJA! promotes the integral function of the human animal bond in our families and community, the educational system, in animal related groups and in political and social entities.NJA! reflects the celebratory revolution in human animal bonds.
