I just received the following e-mail from the Callaway County Humane Society:
The Callaway County Humane Society is a non-profit organization located in mid-Missouri. Our board members are all volunteers and we do not have any paid positions or an executive director. We have not yet been able to raise funds to build a shelter facility, but we do rescue injured and stray animals in the county that the city animal control will not deal with. We offer foster homes to those animals or find other shelters to take them. We assist low-income pet owners with spay/neuter costs and emergency surgery costs for their pets. We try to educate our public about animal rights and welfare and the importance of spay/neuter.
We desperately need a new website to enhance our ability to help animals and give our organization some validity and credibility in the 21st century. The two old websites are “dead” and until I came along, no board members seemed to be taking any initiative to get a new website up and running.
If you’re interested in volunteering for the Callaway County Humane Society, please e-mail Heather Phelps at Heather.Phelps@dmh.mo.gov. Thanks so much!
