I received this request from No Kill Houston:
We are an organization dedicated to promoting and demanding the changes necessary to transform high kill shelters into No Kill shelters; bringing about public awareness that by using the methods outlined in the No Kill Equation, we can save all healthy and treatable animals that enter animal shelters, such as by increasing offsite adoptions in areas where potential new families live, work and play, increasing access to low cost and accessible spay / neuter services, and promoting humane education.
We have started with Houston’s animal control facility i.e. BARC. After months of advocating for change, I believe we have convinced the Director of Health and Human Services to make positive changes at BARC. I would like to do more “marketing” of No Kill Houston and the changes at BARC, but would like a more professional looking site than the one I have created.
I would also like to find a new web host. I am currently using Yahoo Geocities and have constant problems with them. Many times I have trouble logging in, or getting PageBuilder to load, and sometimes after making revisions, I can’t get it to save. Also, I am paying for a “premier” account that is supposed to be free of advertising, yet every time I ask them to get rid of the advertising, my site goes down for days only to return with the advertising. I would like to find something better, but I don’t really know where to look.
I am somewhat computer saavy and would like to be able to edit my site when needed later on. I’m pretty good at most software. I know some HTML but would prefer to not have to use it, if possible.
Also, I would like a new logo. Something more attractive and more expressive than just the pawprint.
