Creative PAW: Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare

Here’s a request for a graphic design volunteer from Second Chance Ranch. If you’re interested in helping them out, please contact Kalisa Jenne-Fraser at 425.722.3565 or kalisj@microsoft.com. Thanks so much for being members of creativePAW!

*****
I am a volunteer for Second Chance Ranch, a 501c3 nonprofit equine welfare organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and transitioning of racehorses to second careers. We also offer life-long retirement for racehorses that cannot be re-homed on a space-available basis at our facility in Elma, Washington on a limited basis. Last year alone, we successfully rehabilitated and re-homed over 60 racehorses and currently have over 30 full-time residents in transition or retirement at the ranch. We are very proud of our “track record” (pun intended!) of success!!

You can read more about our organization online at secondchanceranch.org. Which brings me to my request: We have recently engaged a web designer to re-design and reorganize our website. We need a logo designed and would love to engage one of your volunteers to assist us.

Thank you for your consideration!

Dear creativePAW members:

Thanks for being a part of creativePAW! We have a request for PR help from Marleen of Lost and Found Dog Rescue. If you’re interested in helping out this cause, please contact Marleen at animalrescue@comcast.net. Here’s her message:

*****

I’m Marleen from Lost and Found Dog Rescue. You approved us to work with your organization & we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit.

This just arrived last night and this is BIG! We participated last year and thanks to the good-will from this event — rescues and shelters came together for one week for the sake of the all animals in Delaware. I must say, that in our tiny state, that is not always the case! Many of us are still working together for the greater good thanks to this event.

So, here is what I would like ask, our group is celebrating our 5th anniversary 2-24-09. We plan to celebrate our 5th birthday during the 2nd annual Delaware Week for the animals. We have already booked the Banning Park pavilion in Wilmington DE for an all day event on Sunday 4-26-09 for our birthday party. We intend to invite our adopters for our first reunion - which as of last Saturday that will be 363 invitees!

In keeping with the theme of Delaware’s week for the animals, we intend to invite other rescues & shelters join us. I already have a commitment from our Kent County SPCA to be there to help us celebrate all the animals — not just L&F Dog Rescue.

While we are all dedicated volunteers, what we are lacking is PR talent to help us make the Delaware Week for the Animals the biggest, best event for the sake of animals that Delaware has ever seen! Do you think you have anyone from your organization that would want to help us help with this huge endeavor? Hoping you could send out a mass e-mail to see if we could generate interest in this wonderful cause.

Again, if you’re a PR professional who would like to help out, please contact Marleen at animalrescue@comcast.net. Thanks!

Thanks to creativePAW member Sarah Paolucci for creating a logo for Friends of Philly Zoo Elephants, and for Len Massiglia for revising their flyer! “Sarah designed a great logo, and Len revised our flyer to amazing heights,” says Marianne of FPZE. “We have gotten rave reviews of the flyer and are planning to have 5,000 copies professionally printed.”

The animals and I thank everyone who has joined Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare.
