Creative PAW: Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare

We have a new request for volunteers from the Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Group, Inc. (CWVRG):

We write a quarterly newsletter that is distributed to our rescue members, adopters, and local agencies and other organizations that we work with. At the present time, the newsletter is somewhat limited in scope and content providing updates on our financial status, number of rescues, upcoming events and some educational content. We would love to develop a more comprehensive newsletter to expand the scope with educational letters, graphic design, formatting, articles, etc. Our goal is to expand the distribution list to increase our awareness and visibility in the community as an educational source as well to let communities know of our services and efforts to help this wonderful breed.

Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Group, Inc. (CWVRG) is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation, active rescue organization whose main goal is to match Vizslas in need of a home with loving families wanting to adopt a Vizsla. We are dedicated to providing rehabilitation and foster care for abandoned or abused purebred Vizslas or Vizsla mixes; to educate the community in regards to responsible dog ownership, including the spay/neuter of companion animals; assisting shelters by promoting awareness and working with shelter managers/directors in our areas, and accepting or adopting shelter dogs as quickly as possible.

CWVRG currently covers Colorado, southern Wyoming, Kansas, and southern Nebraska. We have a large group of member/volunteers who provide a variety of services for the dogs we intake, including fostering, transporting and conducting home visits/evaluations on prospective adopters. All rescued Vizslas in our care are provided medical care (spay/neuter, shots, heartworm & fecal tests, other medical treatment as needed, microchipping, etc). If needed, our organization is equipped to provide rehabilitation to those animals that have been traumatized and require additional support and care. Although CWVRG, Inc. pays all medical costs prior to adoption, most of the costs of fostering rescued Vizslas are covered by our volunteers, out of their own pocket.

I can be reached via email at karenpinco@yahoo.com or by cell phone at 303-995-6677.

Friends of Philly Zoo Elephants poster

When Marianne of Friends of Philly Zoo Elephants needed a poster illustrating how much space elephants have at the zoo compared to at reserves and in the wild, she turned to creativePAW. Ryan King of RK Designs was one of the volunteers who answered Marianne’s call for help, and he created the poster you see here (click for a larger image). Thanks to Ryan and all of our creativePAW volunteers!

PAWS of CT poster

When Ilona of PAWS of Connecticut registered at creativePAW and asked for graphic design volunteers, she probably wasn’t expecting a quick response — but she heard from five volunteers right away! “We were thrilled with the response,” says Ilona. “It is so nice to have people out there who want to help non-profits.” Ilona was also thrilled with Bethany Hartshorn of Avoca Designs, who created the adoption poster you see here (click for a larger image). Thanks, Bethany — and thanks to all our creativePAW volunteers! Happy holidays to you all.
