Creative PAW: Creative Professionals for Animal Welfare

Note: This position has been filled. Thanks to all the creativePAW members who offered to lend a hand! —Linda

Dog-loving individual with graphics design/newsletter experience needed for professional-caliber quarterly newsletter put out by All Breed Rescue Network in Denver, Colorado. Previous newsletters can be found at our website, www.allbreedrescuenetwork.com.

We will supply you with all digital photos and articles created in Word, and you would put them together in a newsletter format. The current designer estimates she spends about 10 hours per issue during one or two weeks per quarter. You would need Qwark, InDesign, or comparable software. You would receive recognition and credit for your work on each newsletter and have a great opportunity for creative expression, add to your portfolio, and help a lot of dogs in the process. Last year we re-homed over 3,000 dogs.

Please send samples of your work and a brief statement about why you are interested to editor@skybeam.com. You would be helping a network of around 120 different purebred dog rescue groups (many do take mixed breed dogs, as well). “ABRN” has been in existence for 20+ years, and we work closely with most of the animal shelters in Colorado and beyond. It is time for a design change, so for your first newsletter, you would submit one or more designs for our approval.

We are a 501(c) nonprofit organization whose mission it is to provide a vehicle for the fostering and re-homing of abandoned purebred dogs, to assist in increasing the adoption of shelter dogs by promoting awareness and working with shelters, and to educate the community regarding responsible dog ownership including the spay/neuter of companion animals. Our vision is ending euthanasia of adoptable dogs in Colorado.

The Granite City APA Shelter was broken into and all their dog and cat food stolen. The thieves also took dog and cat crates that are used for mobile adoptions. To donate money to help the shelter replace these supplies, visit their website.
